What warehouses need
Warehouses break the assumptions office networks are built on: long distances, high mounting points, moving clients and an RF environment that changes with the inventory.
Open span, high ceilings and steel racking all change how signal behaves. Coverage depends on the building and the inventory in it — which is why placement is planned per site, not from a formula.
Handhelds and forklift terminals move constantly and roam between access points. Clean handoff matters more to a picking operation than peak throughput.
Devices are often mounted high and far from the closet. Both the power budget and the cable run length need to be planned before mounting begins.
Attached offices, shipping desks and remote closets connect back over copper or fiber depending on distance. Long runs are where fiber and the right optics become necessary.
Camera counts and automation grow year over year. Leaving spare ports and power headroom is cheaper than replacing a switch two years early.
Full racks attenuate signal differently than empty ones, and seasonal inventory changes the environment. A site survey is the reliable way to determine access-point count and placement.
A site running two or three shifts has a narrow maintenance window. Spare units on hand shorten how long a failure affects picking or shipping.

Power and connect access points, cameras and phones from closets that are often spread across a large footprint. Port count and PoE budget size each closet.
Collects closets from across the floor and the attached office into a single path, with the uplink capacity to carry camera and scanner traffic together.
Handle the site internet edge, connectivity back to head office or other sites, and separation between operational systems and general traffic.
Cover the distances copper cannot. Warehouse runs frequently exceed 100 metres, so the optic, fiber type and platform support all have to line up.

Roaming clients that are sensitive to handoff, not bandwidth. Access point overlap and consistent settings matter more than raw speed.

New bays or a second building need uplinks back to the core and hardware consistent with what is already installed.
We cannot guarantee wireless coverage from a floor plan. Access-point placement and quantity depend on ceiling height, racking, construction and how the space is used, and a site survey is the reliable way to determine them. Any equipment intended for outdoor, dock or wash-down areas is checked against the manufacturer’s official environmental rating before we recommend it.
